The Network for Victim Recovery of DC, a nonprofit that offers free case management and legal services to crime victims, chose a striking split color palette. Its orange right pocket plays up the flame logo on the cropped cover and adds the brand’s slogan. A pint-sized pocket on the inner left panel holds small items, while contact info on the back lets crime victims reach out to discuss their case.

Digital advertising and creative agency Change Media Group made clever use of this design. The CMG name is written in a dark, italic serif to contrast its tagline's hollow, light blue sans serif. A cropped cover reveals the logo at right, and an orange bar connects the design's two halves. A skinny orange pocket holds small materials and carries on the color scheme. A call to action on the back invites potential clients to get in touch.

A narrow cover reveals 4" of the vertical right pocket. Create a continuous design across both panels, or give recipients a sneak peek of what's printed on the pocket. The vertical right pocket offers almost total coverage for 8 1/2" x 11" print media, and its glued edges keep them safely in place. At just over half the standard width, the mini left pocket holds items up to 4 3/4" x 11", such as swatches, coupons, or custom inserts. Its small size makes the left panel light and easy to lift, without the risk of papers falling out when opening the cropped cover.
