Tri-Fold Presentation Folders: A Trifecta of Creativity Where Design Takes Center Fold
Unlike a standard bulk folder, the tri-fold folder contains an extra panel to give you more space for your printed design. Tri-fold panels’ dimensions are typically letter-size (9x12), but they also come in legal size (9x14), as well as 4x9 and 6x9 inches. The 4x9 size is perfect to use as a tri-fold brochure with pockets for extra items such as gift certificates. One, two, and three-pocket styles make sure there is enough space for your promotional materials. You can also display additional marketing collateral such as business cards, brochures, CDs, or DVDs with free slots on the pockets.
Download one of our many tri-fold folder templates so you can see how your personalized folders look before printing. Other possibilities to consider include a custom die cut or glossy coating. Round out your design by choosing from four-color process, PMS printing, embossing, or 24 foil stamping imprints on one of 59 paper stocks.
Expert Advice on Optimizing Tri-Fold Folder Designs
- Tri-fold folders come in either traditional or gatefold styles. Traditional opens like a book, with one flap folding over another, while gatefold opens both flaps from the center with no overlapping.
- Due to the nature of gatefold styled folders, two out of three panels will be half-sized, while traditional tri-fold folders can have a combination of both large and small panels.
- Pockets can be affixed to all three panels, giving you better storage capacity.
- An unglued pocket provides easy access to the files inside and additional design space for when the pocket folds down.
- Box pockets and expansion pockets make it easier to store and distribute large items such as booklets, manuals and reports.
- A half-pocket measures in at 4 1/2" and is the perfect size for a brochure or other small marketing item.
- Select a tuck tab style to ensure contents remain securely inside your folder.
