About Design
Monroe College offers classroom education and hands-on learning for career-oriented students in New York state. This black linen photo folder was designed as a keepsake for a celebration dinner honoring dean’s list and president’s list students. The commemorative text on the front cover was a created with foil stamping, giving it a shiny, metallic appearance that is befitting the prestige of the event.
The design aesthetics carefully match the statement on the front cover that declares “You are a star!” The silver font is reminiscent of the glamor and glitz of a Hollywood star and the interior frame is left blank, so that the recipient’s picture truly is the star of this design. The deckle cut design of the frame allows for a more decorative look than a plain black border.
